Implants

Dental implants are a popular and effective solution for those who have lost one or more teeth due to injury, decay, or other dental issues. They will provide you with a permanent, artificial tooth that looks and feels just like the real thing. They are an excellent option for those who want to restore their smiles and improve their oral health. Got more than one tooth missing? Multiple implants can hold a full set of dentures in place!

Secure, natural looking replacement teeth

Dental implants are incredibly durable and long-lasting. If you look after them well, you won’t need to get them replaced. Plus, because they are anchored onto the jawbone, they’re very stable and secure. They can withstand the daily wear and tear of chewing and speaking without slipping or shifting in the mouth.

  • Replaces single missing teeth
  • Replace multiple missing teeth
  • Holds a full set of dentures in place
  • Supports good bone health
  • Prevents an ageing, sunken-in look

By improving your overall oral health, preventing bone loss and preserving the natural structure of the jaw, dental implants can restore confidence and self-esteem. Once they’re in place, you’ll have a natural-looking and functional smile that feels like real teeth.

  • When a tooth is lost, the jawbone that once supported it begins to deteriorate, leading to a variety of problems, including a change in facial structure and difficulty eating or speaking. However, dental implants help to stimulate the jawbone, preventing the bone from deteriorating and maintaining its density. This stimulation comes from the implant’s titanium post, which is surgically implanted into the jawbone, acting as a replacement for the tooth root. As the surrounding bone grows around the post, it integrates with the implant, creating a solid foundation for the attached prosthetic tooth. In this way, dental implants not only restore your smile and your ability to eat and speak normally but also help preserve the health of your jawbone.

  • Dental implants are made from safe, biocompatible materials, such as titanium, which fuse with the jawbone over time, providing a stable foundation for a prosthetic tooth. However, as with any surgical procedure, there are potential risks and complications associated with dental implant placement. You’ll be able to discuss the risks and benefits of dental implants with Dr. Andreas Jahnigen beforehand. He is our dedicated and highly experienced Implantologist; an extremely safe pair of hands.

  • During the consultation, our Implantologist Andreas will conduct a thorough examination of your mouth and teeth, and enquire about your medical history. This assessment will help determine your suitability for treatment. After analyzing X-rays, impressions, and assessment findings, Dr. Andreas Jahnigen and his team of experts will identify the most appropriate type of dental implant treatment based on your needs. They will also determine the optimal placement positions for your tooth implants.

  • Under local anaesthetic, a minor surgical operation is performed to insert the implants. These implants consist of a titanium screw and a crown that resembles a natural tooth. During the procedure, the titanium screw is placed into the jawbone to serve as a stable root for the crown. An incision is made in the gums, and a specialized drill is used to make a small hole in the jawbone. The screw is then inserted into the hole, and the site is stitched up for healing. Fast Dental Implants patients will receive temporary crowns, bridges or dentures immediately after the procedure, while those who opt for a regular implant will have to wait for 3-6 months for the titanium root to fuse with the bone, before the crown can be placed.

  • If you maintain a proper dental care regime , there is no reason why your implants cannot last for a lifetime.

  • Our priority is to ensure that our patients are comfortable during their dental implant procedure in London. We provide local anaesthetic and sedation on request to ensure our procedures cause as little discomfort as possible.
