  • Zoom! is a treatment that contains special ingredients that can penetrate tooth enamel and react with the molecules in teeth that cause discoloration, effectively breaking them down. Whitening gel is applied to the teeth using custom made teeth trays, which are designed to fit snugly in your mouth.

  • You’ll have impressions of your teeth made first, during an initial appointment. Then, at your second appointment, we’ll whiten your teeth over a period of 1.5 – 2 hours. You’ll be able to listen to your music while we do this.

  • Before starting your teeth whitening treatment, you’ll need to attend an initial appointment where your teeth will be examined and impressions taken. Then, after 1-2 weeks, you’ll come back to see us, to collect your personalised tray and gels. We’ll provide you with detailed instructions on what to do, so that you can easily continue the treatment at home.

  • Most people can have tooth whitening treatment. You’ll have a consultation with our dentist prior to treatment, to ensure it’s safe and appropriate for you. However, it should be noted that dental restorations will not be affected by teeth whitening. If the difference in colour is too noticeable, it may be necessary to replace your crown or veneer to ensure it matches your newly whitened teeth.

  • The effects of the treatment can remain in place for a maximum of two years, but this can be extended by regularly visiting your dental hygienist and maintaining good oral hygiene. To prevent discoloration of your teeth after whitening, we’ll advise you to refrain from smoking and consuming excessive amounts of red wine or tea. Plus, if you choose the home whitening treatment option, you’ll simply be able to buy more whitening gel to apply to your custom trays when you need a top up.

  • Most patients experience little to no pain or discomfort during the procedure. The Zoom teeth whitening treatment is a non-invasive treatment that uses a special gel and LED light to remove stains and discolouration from the teeth. Some patients may experience mild sensitivity or discomfort in the teeth or gums after the treatment. This is usually temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers or desensitising toothpaste.
